THE EXOTIC CLOCKROOM

A little room with a sense of adventure

The brief was simple: create a wow factor in a very small cloakroom within a large, luxurious home.

Rather than allowing the limited space to feel secondary, I treated it as an opportunity to create something unexpected. A richly detailed French wallpaper, inspired by exotic jungles and faraway landscapes, was introduced above the existing timber panelling, transforming the room into an immersive jewel box.

The scheme was layered with a vintage-style basin, aged brass accessories and carefully chosen details, creating a sense of travel, history and collected character.

Inspired by the romance of distant lands and the colonial interiors of another era, the result is a small space with a strong personality — dramatic, atmospheric and designed to leave an impression.
